Longridge paddlers competed in the annual Thameside II race on Sunday. The results are shown here.

The race was mired in controversy over the disqualification of almost the entire field. I feel that the only paddlers that can offer valid criticism are those that have organised races themselves. Trying to stop a race that has jumped the start is like trying to ask a herd of wilder beast in full flight. We can improve things though; paddlers, club organisers and the MRC need to ensure the current rules are observed.

Longridge paddlers raced really well. Especially Magnus covering the 18 mile course in two hours. Looking through the results there are some very good performances.
