It's only the first week in October and 2020 sees a very early arrival of flooding. Over the course of just 3 days the river has risen nearly 90cm (3 feet) and the flow rate has jumped from 25 cub.m/s to 125 cub.m/s. Not surprisingly the Environment Agency has put 'Red Boards' up along the whole of the Thames.
We hoping that 2020 is not a repeat of 2019, when the river came up late October it didn't recede until March - over 5 months later.
